May Video Tip Clip: Century Sets
How many reps? How many sets? Are we doing a circuit today or super sets? We get these questions a lot. Sometimes (especially with newer clients) there might even be some confusion as to WHAT those even are! So, here’s a few clarifications - and one pretty cool suggestion.

What’s Your Passion?
Ever since childhood, I’ve had two great passions. The first was (to the surprise of absolutely nobody who knows me) cars. Growing up in the 80s, I was surrounded by cool cars on TV (Luke and Bo Duke’s “General Lee” in The Dukes of Hazzard and B.A. Baracus’s van in The A-Team) and in the movies (Doc Brown’s DeLorean and the Ghostbusters’ Ecto-1). And don’t even get me started on my Matchbox/Hot Wheels collection!
The second was fitness. As a kid, I was at least as inspired by Sylvester Stallone’s ROCKY movies as anyone else (probably more). And by the time I watched Arnold Schwarzenegger in Pumping Iron, as a young adult, I knew my time at Porsche had come to an end - and my new career as a trainer was inevitable! That “new” career is now in its 18th year… and I’m particularly blessed these past two years, as I’ve been able to have my cake and eat it too.
Two years ago, the Enthusiast Communications Manager at Ford Performance asked me to begin writing articles for Performance.Ford.com - and to author a new Mustang history book! Balancing Kennedy Fitness and writing for Ford, with being a good husband and father, has yielded a particularly demanding schedule. But for as tired as my body and brain have been at times - my soul has never felt better! Shy of winning the lottery and taking my family for a year-long around-the-world vacation, I really feel I’m living my best life.
So, what motivates you? Is what you do what you want to be doing? Do you have a passion that you’ve been denying yourself? If you’re not doing what you want: Why aren’t you? If there’s any possible way you can fulfill your soul without depleting your bank account - I’d encourage you to do so! I believe we’re all put on this earth for a unique purpose. To achieve that purpose, we’ve been blessed with a talent or passion that is equally unique. And I believe once you realize, accept, and pursue that path - you’ll be living your best life too!
Yours in health,

Spring Fish Chowder
Ingredients
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 1/2 cups (120 grams) leeks, thinly sliced
1 cup (134 grams) baby carrots, thinly sliced
3 cups unsalted chicken stock
1/2 teaspoon coarse kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 pound (454 grams) baby or new potatoes, quartered
1 cup (132 grams) frozen green peas
1 pound (454 grams) cod fillets, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 cup (237 milliliters) 2% reduced-fat milk
1/4 cup (33 grams) all-purpose flour
1/4 cup (10 grams) fresh chives, chopped
Directions
Heat oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add leeks and carrots; sauté until leeks start to brown, 4–5 minutes. Add stock, salt, pepper and potatoes; bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat to medium and cook until potatoes are almost tender, about 10 minutes. Add peas and cod; cover and cook until fish is done, 4–5 minutes.
In a small bowl, whisk together milk and flour. Gradually whisk milk mixture into soup; cook, uncovered, until thickened, about 2 minutes, stirring frequently. Sprinkle with chives.
