Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! Every year, January brings with it a flood of new people to the gym - each wanting to lose weight and get in shape. They resolve to eat better, exercise on a regular basis, get more sleep, drink less alcohol, etc. Unfortunately, by March, many of these ambitions have already been abandoned until the next January. So this is my heartfelt plea to you:

PLEASE MAKE THIS YEAR DIFFERENT! Whether it be to look better for a wedding, not embarrass yourself at a sporting event, get your doctor (or your spouse) off your back, improve your chances of surviving COVID, or simply to feel better about yourself - put your foot down and actually make it happen THIS YEAR!

Just among my clients this year, I’ve got folks aiming to look their best at their daughter’s wedding, recover after cancer, finish losing 100 pounds, enter retirement fitter than they were when they started their job, etc. Even Kristin and I each aim to get into our best shape for our triathlons this July! Our clients WILL succeed. So will we. AND YOU CAN TOO! Golden Overnight Oats With Blueberries

Ingredients 

  • 2 cups (500ml) unsweetened almond milk

  • 2 teaspoons ground turmeric

  • 2 teaspoons freshly grated ginger

  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

  • 2 cups (176g) thick rolled oats

  • 2 cups (288g) fresh blueberries

Directions

In a 4-cup (1L) storage tub, combine milk, turmeric, ginger and black pepper. Whisk to mix well. Stir in the oats and cover the tub, refrigerate overnight or at least 4 hours.

Stir until creamy, then serve topped with blueberries.

Serves: 4 | Serving Size: 3/4 cup oats and 1/2 cup berries
