October Video Tip Clip: From the Beaches of Sanibel Island

We’ve said for years that, “We have the best clients ever!” Examples of this are endless, but as you’ll see in this month’s tip clip, one of our longtime clients recently was so kind as to offer us a week at their Florida vacation house. This thoughtful gesture has inspired us to issue YOU a challenge! Check it out in the video above.

Autumn is Here!

Fall has arrived and although I’m writing this month’s newsletter from the sunroom of my client’s Florida beach house - it won’t be 85 degrees in Nebraska for much longer. Already, our children are excitedly talking about our annual trip to Vala’s Pumpkin Patch, and what they’re going to trick ‘r treat as for Halloween. Of course, after that, comes Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Eve - and all of the dietary temptations that accompany the entire holiday season!

So, in addition to the two-part challenge we’ve already issued to you in this month’s video tip clip, we implore you to exercise restraint when it comes to your sweet tooth and its serving sizes, now through the end of the year. Everyone (personal trainers included) feels at least some level of social/peer pressure to get into better shape come January - so why sabotage yourself for three long months first? I’ll still enjoy a cup or two of hot apple cider that day at Vala’s, and you can bet our boys and I will thoroughly enjoy their grandmother’s pumpkin bread. But now that I’ve joined the “over 40” crowd, I can say with 100-percent certainty that my metabolism isn’t what it was in my teens and 20s anymore - and I’ll be making my nutritional decisions accordingly this year. I encourage you to do the same!

In fact, to offer a bit of inspiration; one of our clients has just seven more pounds to drop before his Thanksgiving weigh-in this year. If he makes it - he’ll be down 90 pounds since he started with us last year! I’m intentionally keeping his name anonymous because I haven’t actually mentioned to him that I was going to use him as an inspirational example today, but he looks fantastic - and I’m very proud of him! I’ve watched him work hard, eat clean - and offer no excuses when he’s occasionally slipped up (as we all do from time to time). But most importantly, he hasn’t quit. He’s committed himself to a new, consistent, and healthy lifestyle - and he’s been shedding weight and gaining strength ever since! You can do the same. And so can your family, friends, and co-workers! So if you or someone you know could benefit from a point in the right direction, please give us a call at (402) 871-7935. If I don’t answer, leave a message, and I’ll call you back ASAP to see what we can do to help!

Yours in health,
