February Video Tip Clip:  “Undesking” Nadine!

Nadine is one of the wonderful people that makes it possible for us all to enjoy a slice of delicious Godfather’s Pizza on special occasions and cheat days!  But after injuring her shoulder, Nadine wasn’t having any fun.  Since attending our “Undesk Your Body” class at their corporate headquarters and following the direction of our beloved instructor, Julie, Nadine’s numbness and suffering is gone!  She recommends you take advantage of the corporate wellness programs we offer through WorkoutWhereYouWork.com…and we couldn’t be happier to hear of her success!

Government Shutdowns & Wellness Resolutions

(Please Note:  The following article is in no way meant to show support for or against any political party or outcome.)

What does the recent partial shutdown of our Federal Government have in common with your wellness resolutions for 2019?  Possibly nothing, but potentially more than you might realize!  Many of us set goals for ourselves throughout the year, but particularly in January we are keener to resolve to eat better and exercise more.  The trouble is that by February many of us have fallen off that wagon.  Why?  Because we are often split!  Much like in an old Tom and Jerry cartoon, we may have a little angel on one shoulder telling us to stick with it and do what we know is right…but on our other shoulder is that little devil whispering in our ear that donuts are oh-so delicious!  Now I’m not accusing Democrats or Republicans in our nation’s capital of being angels or devils.  What I am saying though is that there remains, in D.C. and in our own hearts and minds, an often divided conflict between two powerful and combating ideas.

This division, especially as it relates to your health and wellness, can result in total paralysis of progress toward your goals…a shutdown if you will!  If you remain committed to exercising…but cheat too often with your nutrition…your weight loss will slow, or even halt.  If you stick to a low calorie diet…but skip the gym…you may lose muscle, which will only serve to lower your metabolism in the long run!  So my plea to you today is not so much to take sides politically, but to encourage you to listen to that little angel on your shoulder.  So pile on the vegetables, enjoy some fresh fruits and lean meats, walk that extra 1,000 steps for the day, do two more sit-ups than yesterday…and tell that little devil to take a hike!

Yours in health,
