November Video Tip Clip:  ROCKY Circuit

Mickey Goldmill would say if you can survive this circuit “You’re gonna eat lightning, and you’re gonna crap thunder!”  Then he might add “You’ll be able to eat nails, kid.  They’re gonna have to put you in a cage!”  OK, perhaps I’ve seen the ROCKY movies a few too many times, but the point remains; this is one tough circuit!

PS:  We apologize that you can’t quite see the medicine ball during the push-up demo.  We were just a bit restricted with the camera, needing to demonstrate exercises 7 feet up, and down on the floor!

Monthly Spotlight

CREED

“CREED” will be released on Wednesday, November 25th, just one day before we all sit down with our families for our annual Thanksgiving feast.  If you’re not familiar, CREED is the latest installment in the long-running ROCKY franchise.  The movie stars Sylvester Stallone, reprising his role as former heavy weight boxing champion, Rocky Balboa.  I’ve not seen it yet, so don’t worry about any spoilers.  That being said, it appears that the now retired boxer will be coaching the son of Apollo Creed; his opponent from the first two films.

I decided to make this movie the subject of this months’ spotlight for a couple of different reasons.  1) Anybody who knows me knows I’m a HUGE fan of Sly’s, was an extra in the previous installment, and am always looking for an excuse to talk about one of my biggest inspirations.  2) Speaking of inspiration, though this series has seen its’ high points (Oscar Winner: Best Picture, 1976) and low points (Rocky V, 1990), each film has typically pushed the idea that if you work hard enough, you can accomplish anything!  So I invite you to treat yourself to a night out on Wednesday, November 25th.  See the movie, get inspired…and remember it on Thursday, when you’re faced with the choices of how much food to put on your plate and whether you spend the rest of your day on the couch watching football…or maybe going outside for a few push-ups, sit-ups, and a run instead!
